- How do you use different types of plastic resins?
- 14 Nov 2017
Plastic resins that are currently used in plastic bags and packaging processes are polyethylene resin. (Polyethylene- PE) is the most widely used plastic resin. They are strong, durable, moisture proof, lightweight, resistant to weak acids and alkalis. Plastic resins also have the ability to fold and has high elongation. It is difficult to tear and is a good electrical insulator. Although not very heat resistant, but can be cold resistant We may be able to categorize PE resin according to the three grades: LDPE, LLDPE and HDPE.
Low Density Polyethylene (LDPE)
Low density polyethylene resin. The appearance is quite clear, soft, flexible and resistant to acidic and alkaline chemicals. Can be easily processed It is electrically insulated and does not contain toxins that are harmful to human body Including able to support the impact well
Product type
Various types of plastic bags Both small sizes used to pack general products to large bags such as industrial bags, ice bags, frozen food bags. Film used to make various cushioning materials
Linear Low Density Polyethylene (LLDPE)
Linear low-density polyethylene. Properties are between LDPE and HDPE, but it is softer and more ductile than LDPE and HDPE have been processed into film up to 65%, relatively clear, soft, stretchable.
Product type is clear, strong and sealable products are suitable for general use such as vegetable bags, fruit bags, bread bags, food bags.
High Density Polyethylene (HDPE)
High density polyethylene resin. It is quite a white with high strength can hold a lot of weight. and high heat resistance. Good chemical resistance, odorless, and silicone free. Product type is suitable for producing PE pipes, handle bags, shopping bags, bottles, chemical kegs, gallon bottle caps, oil crates, industrial crates, fruit crates, beer crates.
